and just my Personal Note Fuck Al Gore. He fly 1th class all over the World live in his Big House with a Electric use of one Year like a normal Chinese Person has in 10 Years and tell us save the Planet.

i saw the hybrid car in test. it doesn’t work. the energy save is minimal. And the Battery like he say is very poison.

the solution is take bus and subway or next time u go to the Fitness Center walk to there. or buy a small car. without air condition. Buy a Silver or white car with black windows instead.

take a Airplane thats a Environment Killer.

The Weight of the Battery is over 70 KG so u need more oil to move just the battery.

The part where you talk about hybrid cars not saving the environment because of skyscrapers etc. is looking at just 1 person, if millions of people get these hybrid cars, then it will have a big environmental impact.

ferrarriguy June 23, 2009 at 1:29 am

i know three people with hybrid cars and they only get about 25 mpg. there have been gas cars that get better mileage than that for 50 years. hybrids are a joke.

JohnMorrison6189 June 24, 2009 at 8:54 am

LMAO can you belive it? Some car company will be releasing a 55 mpg car NOT in America.

Hybrid cars are temporary so no need to yell. Second of all, do you actually believe statistics? Have you actually gone around the world looking for oil and recording data? I am pretty sure that we have a greater supply of oil then the statistics tell us. Why? – The government wants your money and they will do anything to convince you to do so. Air quality though is real. So perhaps even if the government scams you at least you get to breathe fresh air with your environmentally friendly car.

You’re my new hero!

jakeisnotahomo June 29, 2009 at 10:02 pm

he says the price of electricity will go up and make it pointless havin a hybrid car to save money. erm…starnge point as a hybris car uses a diesel engine to run at higher speeds which charges a battery like an alternator on a normal car. good effort tho

But banning SUVs isn’t a solution, SUVs are very useful here in the illinois winters, Ground clearance, 4×4, room, and rugdness. We shouldn’t ban anything, what we should do is continue to advance our technology into something that will completely not run on Oil. Not make a vehicle that adds 20MPG to what average SUVs and Sedans run on these days. GM is working on a vehicle of such caliber, and so is Honda. So chill down, it’s too early to start banning anything.

grcirca1985 July 6, 2009 at 4:00 pm

I think you’ve overlooked the matter of personal preference. I never said everyone should drive a hybrid. For me it’s a great solution. I didn’t overpay if I got the car I wanted at the going rate. If anything, with demand exceeding supply, I got a good deal. The point is, if I’d bought a cheaper car I wouldn’t have gotten the car I wanted. You can’t quantify peoples’ tastes.

ianclivewright July 9, 2009 at 8:26 pm

That might work for Europe and the uk, but America is a BIG country, and as a consequence things are a long way apart. Who wants to drive about in a little 1100cc car, for miles and miles.
The one thing about the expense of fuel in the uk/europe is that it has forced the car manufacturers to produce more fuel efficient engines. I must admit my mind boggles when I see the mpg you get out of some American cars.
But I’d rather have cheap fuel and big engines myself.

ZyVonic July 13, 2009 at 7:03 am

The solution is wait for better technology, Hybrids don’t justify their price, and don’t save much gas to begin with, 50 MPG aint shit to me. I don’t know why every one is starting to panic when we still have more than 70 years left until we run short on oil.

LeftLiberalSoCal July 13, 2009 at 2:44 pm

What are your solutions? What reason is there for you to drive up to the top of a mountain? I’m sure we could figure out somthing. The point is that we need alternative energy. But first and foremost we need to ban SUV’s – or at the least put a heavy tax on them to discourage ownership. Then we need to focus on fuel efficient cars. The 1996 Geo Metro got almost 50 mpg. And look at the TATA. Thats what we need. Small affordable cars that get 50 mpg. THEN we can explore real alternative energy.

ZyVonic July 16, 2009 at 9:35 am

A car can’t get me on top of the romlan mountain on a dry sunny day, how about in December? take your banning solutions and stick them up your ass.

ZyVonic July 17, 2009 at 9:24 am

My jeep doesn’t fuck me in the ass. You over paid for a car just for it’s hybrid functionality, imagine there was a gasoline prius, how much do you think it will cost? the word Hybrid alone adds 5000-6000$ to the price of the vehicle.

rickforpresedent July 19, 2009 at 11:56 am

the honda in sight from 99′ got 70mpg but no one wanted it then so it was taken off the market

lilmic1987 July 19, 2009 at 11:47 pm

you know in the 60′s there was a patented carburator that got over 100 mpg… you know what happend to it,,, the major oil companies(shell, texaco, etc…) bought it, and never released it. and you think the hybrid car is a scam????

grcirca1985 July 22, 2009 at 10:04 pm

It’s unfortunate because the fuel economy on time machines is rubbish. Not only that, I hear if you so much as step on a butterfly the world would be so fucked you’d be begging for global warming.

I think we can both agree that the auto industry is running a racket. But I still think a hybrid is pretty decent choice of car. It’s progressive, it’s supportive, bubbly, and loyal–like a gay best friend. Whereas SUVs are like gay enemies–they fuck you in the ass, and then you get gas. BA-ZIIING!!

sorienor July 26, 2009 at 6:26 am

Non hybrid economy cars can get 50mpg and cost a whole lot less. The 1985 Honda CRX HF can easily do 50mpg…with a carburator..23 years ago. The 1978 Rabbit Diesel was close to 50mpg as well..30 years ago.

I’m not impressed with hybrids.
