Non hybrid economy cars can get 50mpg and cost a whole lot less. The 1985 Honda CRX HF can easily do 50mpg...with a carburator..23 years ago. The 1978 Rabbit Diesel was close to 50mpg as well..30 years ago.

I'm not impressed with hybrids.

It's unfortunate because the fuel economy on time machines is rubbish. Not only that, I hear if you so much as step on a butterfly the world would be so fucked you'd be begging for global warming.

I think we can both agree that the auto industry is running a racket. But I still think a hybrid is pretty decent choice of car. It's progressive, it's supportive, bubbly, and loyal--like a gay best friend. Whereas SUVs are like gay enemies--they fuck you in the ass, and then you get gas. BA-ZIIING!!

My jeep doesn't fuck me in the ass. You over paid for a car just for it's hybrid functionality, imagine there was a gasoline prius, how much do you think it will cost? the word Hybrid alone adds 5000-6000$ to the price of the vehicle.

A car can't get me on top of the romlan mountain on a dry sunny day, how about in December? take your banning solutions and stick them up your ass.

What are your solutions? What reason is there for you to drive up to the top of a mountain? I'm sure we could figure out somthing. The point is that we need alternative energy. But first and foremost we need to ban SUV's - or at the least put a heavy tax on them to discourage ownership. Then we need to focus on fuel efficient cars. The 1996 Geo Metro got almost 50 mpg. And look at the TATA. Thats what we need. Small affordable cars that get 50 mpg. THEN we can explore real alternative energy.

The solution is wait for better technology, Hybrids don't justify their price, and don't save much gas to begin with, 50 MPG aint shit to me. I don't know why every one is starting to panic when we still have more than 70 years left until we run short on oil.
