PART 2
I just got a Hybrid and love it. I do care about the blind people because I live in an area where there is a lot of training for the blind, Once again I do not need it to make noise all the time, I will put this device on my car when it comes out, so can anyone help me help the blind and tell me where can I find this device called P.A.S.S.?
Angelo
We do not need the hybrid car to sound off all the time, just when a Blind person is in the area… I have heard of a company from Michigan that makes a device called P.A.S.S, Which emits noise from a Hybrid car only when a Blind person is in the area…. I saw this last month in downtown ROCHESTER, MI… (Where I live) I wish I could talk to the guys that were doing the test to get more info…

Thank you Michelle for bringing up this important issue on YouTube. Maybe coins or rocks in the hubcaps is a solution?
Michelle, if you read this, did you give any thought to what you are asking in terms of noise polution the world over?
did you consider that there might be a better way to help the few blind people other that polute the entire planet with noise?
Where did you get your facts? Even if it is true that zero blind people have been hurt by hybrids that doesn’t mean that there is no danger that it could happen. Do you need to have a death to prove to you that it is something that needs to be addressed?? I’m amazed at how selfish you are about this issue. There is no harm in adding an engine sound to hybrid cars so that the blind, and people simply not paying attention, can hear a car coming, and keep in mind A CAR CAN BE A DEADLY WEAPON!
More PC muck. Why does everything need to accommodate everyone? And to date – ZERO blind people have been hurt by hybrids. And how do you make it sound like a car? Run the engine? Most hybrids sound like cars once over 25 mph. If you are driving, then you should watch where you are driving.
