Even if it is true that zero blind people have been hurt by hybrids that doesn't mean that there is no danger that it could happen. Do you need to have a death to prove to you that it is something that needs to be addressed?? I'm amazed at how selfish you are about this issue. There is no harm in adding an engine sound to hybrid cars so that the blind, and people simply not paying attention, can hear a car coming, and keep in mind A CAR CAN BE A DEADLY WEAPON! I have heard of a company from Michigan that makes a device called P.A.S.S, Which emits noise from a Hybrid car only when a Blind person is in the area.... I saw this last month in downtown ROCHESTER, MI... (Where I live) I wish I could talk to the guys that were doing the test to get more info...
